Day 3- Dublin/London

First and foremost I am happy to report that we figured out the shoes! Whew... what a relief, because boy did we need them today!!!

Also, yesterday was actually Day 2 of our trip and the day that we lost on planes was Day 1, so sorry for the confusion. Or it might have just been me that was confused. :)

We woke up this morning and went for a lovely stroll down Grafton Street. We sat at a small coffee house and listend to a street violinist seranade us with meledoies far to close to the heart... The Titanic's My Heart Will Go One Forever was his speciality. When we heard him begin to play it for the second time around we decided it was time to depart.

So then we went for another lovely stroll in St. Steven's Green Park. A man informed us yesterday that it was one of the largest green spaces in the world, but once we had walked entirely through it we realized that could not possibly be true. We had such a good time in this park that when we exisited we didn't even bother to care that it was not the same place that we had entered it in. So, we again took a walk, in a residental area of Dublin which was a nice break from the tourists pace.

Once we realized how far out we were we turned around and started back for our hostel so that we could catch our bus to the airport. We walked briskly, but we still managed to be slightly behind schedule. So we arived at the airpot with about 40 minutes before our flight took off. At which point the lady whom we checked in with quickly informed us that we must run and that even still we most likely would not catch our flight. So, off we went! Ran to security, butt the line, sepearted to speed things off. Nat got through security first and found our gate... She took off running. At one point I was with her, then next thing I know she was gone! I kept up as best as I could for a while. But I remember turning a corner and no longer being able to see her at which point I slowed down. No point in running if she would be there to inform them that I was on my way... (love you nat). So I get to the gate and Nat is standing in the back of a really long line POURING SWEAT! No, DRIPPING sweat! We both start laughing hysterically and almost fall to the ground. Turns out our flight was late, we had had plenty of time to get there, but Nat especially got a good workout.

When we got on the plane we both passed out before it even had taken off and next thing you know we are in London. An hour and half bus ride, and a 30 mimute walk later we had arrived at our second hostel. We were felt disgusting from our airport jog and hike to the hostel and decided that it was time for our first shower. It felt great to be clean again. We had diner at a cafe, walked down some bar district, had a drink and headed home. We are going to try to do A LOT tomorrow and want to be somewhat well rested, so not much to report on London yet. In fact Nat will hate that I am saying this, because I really am trying to stay postive about being here, but so far I am wondering why we left Dublin...

Hope to report great things about London tomorrow.

Mom, we saw your EXACT DOUBLE today walking down the street in London and it was the SPOOKIEST thing I have ever experienced. The face, the posture, the walk, the face and EVEN THE FEET. I swear, you are here following us around, no??

Miss you all.

With much love from London,
The girls. :)

  1. So I'm glad you found me!! I secretly booked a ticket and since I have your itinerary....
No really that was just your guardian angel - as I am truely with you in spirit only!! But honestly NOONE could have MY FEET!! Enjoy London tomorrow. Galin and I were watching some of the Michael Jackson memorial and they kept panning to London and I was wondering if I would see you guys walking in the background! I was in London 15 years ago - I liked Big Ben. Love you both...Mom

  2. Great to see the live video feeds...helps us share the experience. Can't wait to see today but beware the food is not all good in London.

Btw, Sara Cottler lives in Geneva, Switzerland and works for WHO (not the band but World Health Organization). You can look her up on facebook.

    Love,
    Sir Dad

  3. Okay, we're stumped, what's with the shoes???

We recommend paying the fee and going in Westminster Abbey to see all the tombs; Tower of London to see the crown jewels. Two interesting side trips are Windsor Castle and Stratford upon Avon (accessible by Train).

Wishing we were with you :-)
    Love,
    Collins Clan
